Thanksgiving 2009

"Yuck! I don't like Turkey. Please do not make me have another bite!"
Nana, Poppy, and MB

This was MB's Thanksgiving outfit. This pose is his new favorite pose when he's trying to be cute and flirty.
Daddy and MB

Aunt B and MB

For Thanksgiving we went to Houston and spent time with both sides of the family. MB got to meet some family that he had never met before. He had lots of fun with everyone! He was a little fussy because I am convinced he is trying to cut some teeth. Man, I wish they'd get here. He had some trouble sleeping, but slept a lot better last night once we got home. Praise the Lord! As soon as those teeth finally appear I'll post some pics.

Fall Decorations at Home

Yesterday we took MB to the neighborhood Fall Carnival. He had fun fishing in the Duck Pond. Today we took him to the Dallas Arboretum for the first time. The weather was fabulous and we had a great time. It was fun posing MB in all the different areas. We can't wait to go back!

Sitting Up

MB is sitting up now. He has been for a couple of weeks. I thought it would never happen because sitting up seemed to really irritate his stomach. I can't set him down right after he eats or he will spit up all of his food. He still spits up some but it doesn't seem to bother him like it did before.
Now, he is really working on crawling. He wants to move around so badly. Yesterday he coordinated his movements enough to go a couple of inches and was so proud of himself. Before I know it he'll be all over this house!

MB's First Camping Trip

"I am sooooo happy to be camping."

" Why is Daddy trying to get close to me and make me smile?"

Mommy and me sitting in our Aggie chair.

"I am just hanging out here in the camper while everyone does the work to pack up. What a life!"

We took MB on his first camping trip this past weekend. We went to Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, TX. We went for the 24 hours of Rocky Hill mountain bike race. The weather was fabulous. MB really enjoyed it and did really well. We can't wait to take him camping again.

My First Professional Haircut

"Today Mommy took me with her to get her hair cut. She asked Mrs. Shirley to cut my hair too. I was a big boy and didn't even cry. I made it a little hard for her to cut my hair though because I wanted to see what she was doing and look at the scissors. They were pretty cool."

6 Month Pictures

"This is my Aggie sweat suit. Gig 'Em!"

This is a mid roll-over shot.

"I love to read!"

Today I took Michael to the doctor for his 6 month check up. He weighed in at 16 pounds 3 ounces which puts him in the 25th percentile for weight again. He is 26 5/8 inches long which puts him in the 50th percentile for height. She said he is a very normal, very happy 6 month old.
I didn't get very many good pictures of him this week because he wasn't "in the mood" to take pictures. He has been too focused on rolling back and forth to really worry about anything else. We are going to Houston again this weekend and maybe I will get some better shots there.

MB is a very active little guy. I know I am doomed once he starts crawling. However, the doctor wonders if he is going to skip crawling because he is more interested in standing instead of sitting up at the moment and doesn't stay on his tummy for very long. We'll see, but I am voting for crawling.

Here is a list of a few things he can do now:

* roll both ways
* turn the seat of his jumperoo himself
* take off his bib and throw it on the floor
* grabs everything and put it in his mouth
* says a few syllables
* constantly aware of his surroundings-very social
* starting to mimic every now and then
*sit supported

What Food Produced This Face?

MB tried bananas for the first time today. As you can tell by his face he was not crazy about them. He shivered from head to toe when they went down. So far he has not been so crazy about fruits. He does the same thing with pears. I wonder if he doesn't like the sweetness or the texture. His face cracked me up and wanted to share. We'll try them again tomorrow. Maybe we'll be more successful.
