Two Month Doctor Visit

"Mom, why are you even trying to take my picture? Don't you know I am busy here looking at the walrus?"

Today was Michael's 2 month doctor visit. He weighed in at 11 pounds 15.5 ounces. He is 23 1/4 inches long. He has grown four inches since he was born. He is in the 50th percentile on height and weight. The dr said only 1% of all children are ever in the 50th percentile. So he is exactly average. His motor skills are definitely not "average" though. She was quite impressed at how strong his grip is and how well he is able to control his head. She said his movements indicate he's all boy and she told him we might have a future Aggie football player in our midst. Right as she said that he smiled and laughed. So we'll see if he knows something we don't. Gig 'Em!! She also told me to enjoy holding him and reading to him now because once he is able to move around and go I won't get many more opportunities to do so because she thinks he's going to be one active little boy! That made me a little sad because Michael and I have known that about Little MB since he was in the womb. He's growing up so fast already!

Finally...

"Daddy and I are suppose to be playing while Mommy is cooking. Somehow we both just fell asleep."

Happy Memorial Day! Today I finally took some cuter pictures of Michael Britton and I. I don't have very many and I was very sad about that. With my difficult recovery taking pictures of myself was not at the top of my agenda. Now we just have to get some pictures of us as a family.

Michael and I had a little photo shoot this morning to get 2 month pictures. It was hard to get good shots because he was interacting with the camera so much and "talking" to it.

Now that he is two months old these are the things he can do:
1. Smile Socially
2. "Talk"-He is cooing and making all kinds of noises these days. He will make a noise and I'll repeat it and he laughs/smiles and then makes another and it goes on and on.
3. Laughs occasionally
4. I keep a pretty predictable routine for him and he knows what is coming next. I'll put his bib on and he immediately starts smacking his lips because he knows his bottle is next.
5. He slept a little longer for two nights this week from about 9:45 p.m.-5 a.m. However, the last two nights he didn't. I hope that becomes more regular soon.

I will be taking him to get his 2 month immunizations on Tuesday. I pray he is not like me and doesn't have a bad reaction to them. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll post another update after our appointment.

That was one hair raising experience

Last night after giving Michael a bath I was putting lotion on his scalp. Seeing as I was a little tired and had been entertaining him for several hours, I decided to play beauty shop. This look reminds me of the kids in Weird Science. Michael was not at all impressed with having his hair sticking straight up and he refused to smile or play beauty shop with me :(.

Happy MB

Michael took this picture of MB last night on the porch. It almost doesn't even really look like him but his smile can't help but make you laugh. I thought it was a funny picture and thought I'd share.

MB's Doctor Visit Today

So happy to be at the doctor.

This is how big I am. I weigh 10 pounds 12 ounces!

I took Michael to the doctor today because I thought he had acid reflux. He has reflux but not really acid reflux. Which is good. We have switched his formula to a soy formula which he seems to be a lot happier on. She said he was growing well and is very attentive and tracks really well with his eyes. So we're on the right track.
