This is Macie, not to be confused with his other girlfriend named Macie, who is Michael's new love interest at Kindermusik. She is just 1 week older than MB. We were playing a game but the babies were only interested in watching the older babies play the game. While they were laying there Macie kept touching MB and patting him. It was so cute. Thank goodness I had my camera. All the girls just love him. It must be those beautiful baby blues.

I Am Now Four Months Old...
"Check out my guns."
Michael enjoys playing in this mirror. He makes faces at himself and laughs. I am glad I had this from my pre-k days. I have several mini mirrors that I'll use when he gets older. He's lucky his mom was an early childhood teacher. He'll get to play with all kinds of cool stuff.

"I am starting to sit up better now that I am 4 months old. Pretty soon I'll be doing it on my own."
Michael turned four months old yesterday. Today we went for his 4 month check up. He got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine. His tastebuds are developing because he didn't like it at all. He cooperated but made the funniest faces. The nurse couldn't stop laughing. The last time he got it he gulped it right down. He now weighs 13 pounds 14.75 ounces. He is in the 25th percentile of weight. He is 25.5 inches long and in the 75th percentile for height. So he has leaned out a bit because he has gotten longer.
We don't get to start cereal yet. He doesn't take enough formula yet. The daily calories he gets needs to come from formula for the 1st year and all other solids are just for exposure and building a base. He needs to consistently eat 30-35 ounces of formula a day before I start cereal. In the last week he has just started taking closer to 7 ounces in each feeding so he gets about 25-28 ounces a day. So he's almost there, but needs a little more time. Fine by me. It's one less thing I have to buy!!
Michael is developing his skills at a great rate and the doctor is still impressed with his strength. We just need to keep playing with him and showing him lots of love and he'll be just fine.

Oh, I forgot he is getting to where he likes to cuddle up to you when you hold him. It's the best feeling. I have been waiting for it. He just started it in the last couple of days. It melts my heart each time. It is like a nonverbal "I love you mom" which is great!! He's a joy and I love being his mommy.

CAUTION: MIGHT BITE
MB is putting EVERYTHING in his mouth these days. He'll barely look at something before it's in his mouth. As you can see, his bib is soaking wet. He had only had that bib on for maybe 15 minutes too. I am wondering if he's teething between all of the drool and chewing on things.

Happy 4th of July!!
My Baseball Booty
Laughing with Grandma
Today was MB's first 4th of July. We spent it with Michael's family. We had a cook out and spent most of the day inside because it's sooooo hot. We are planning to go out and do the little fireworks we bought this evening. If I get more good pics I will post afterwards.
Today makes me so grateful for the service Michael gave to our country at home and in Iraq. Now that we have our wonderful baby boy I am even more grateful that he made it home safely and we were able to grow our family. Our lives are now complete with that precious baby boy.
Happy 4th everyone!!
